NxStage

Anything can Happen.

NxStage built a smaller, more portable dialysis system that made home treatment realistic.
It shifted dialysis from clinics into daily life, giving patients more control and flexibility.

PROBLEM

A dialysis diagnosis often felt like a life sentence. The brand spoke clinically, focusing on features, while patients worried their normal lives were over.

SOLUTION

We created an out-of-category, human-first campaign that showed how home dialysis works and what it makes possible. Not specs, but benefits.

OUTCOME

Engagement exceeded expectations, proving that a more human, benefits-first story was more effective for the business. The work was used across channels, including trade shows.

Get your life back.

NxStage introduced a different way to think about dialysis. For many patients, the diagnosis felt like the end of the life they knew, defined by restriction, routine, and constant worry about access to treatment. Vacations felt off limits. Emergencies felt far more dangerous. A power outage or loss of water was not just an inconvenience. It could feel life-threatening.

NxStage offered a different possibility. With the ability to receive treatment anywhere there was water and power, patients gained freedom, reassurance, and a greater sense of control. We brought that idea to life through unexpected scenarios, including a hillbilly camping out on Mars, to show that treatment no longer had to define the limits of a person’s world. The message was simple: this was not just about dialysis anywhere. It was about feeling human again, and thanks to NxStage, anything really can happen.
